Home Construction Management & Analysis

Perhaps the biggest challenge for most homeowners, contemplating a major new project, is to determine how much that home will eventually cost.  The complexity of construction today— where obtaining a permit can take years, not just months— is just one of the many hurdles to be faced.

Hardly a day goes by when we don’t read about how some city, state or federal project has now doubled in price.  Inevitably, as we consider our engagement in any sizeable construction venture, whether it be residential or commercial, we find ourselves wondering if we too will find out the hard way.  Our confidence in the final outcome is hardly improved as we meet with various architects and contractors.  The vagueness of their estimates and the number of factors they state will impact the final cost, leave us more confused, rather than confident we can embark on a project and not end up in bankruptcy, or wishing we had never started in the first place.

With more than twenty five years representing home owners, property owners and developers, we have specialized in honing sophisticated strategies that not only answer those cost and quality related questions up front— but dramatically cut hard construction costs.  That is no idle claim.  We have the track record to prove we can take a typical set of preliminary bids and reduce those hard numbers by anywhere from twenty five to fifty percent.

In addition , we manage every aspect of a project, from planning, permits, all the way through punch lists.  Our clients agree, we save them at least three times our total fees, and they can relax and enjoy the process.

We measure our success in mastering today’s complex construction environment, not in words or projections, but in our track record of performance.  Much as we also support and endorse construction efficiency and especially the move towards “Green building,”— which preserves our resources and protects our environment—  one of the often overlooked, but most powerful strategies available is the careful and efficient analysis and planning to predict and reduce expenditure.

How a project is designed, planned and specified has enormous impact on not only the construction costs that inevitably follow, but on whether that project’s budget will stay within anticipated boundaries, or will spiral out of control.

We have developed a host of highly specialized, proprietary software tools that enable us to analyze, develop and apply strategies and methods that are custom designed for each project.  These tools include our own Construction Specification Language (CSL) that we use either as a native platform, or to augment existing Construction Specification Institute (CSI) formats.

We also make sure all construction elements, specifications and contracts are written in plain language— so that anyone can understand them.  This is essential in a world often buried in technical jargon.

So many misunderstandings arise simply because key individuals have not had either the time, or the experience to master the issues involved.  We ensure those issues are clarified in a way that anyone can understand. With that goal in mind, we also pursue and promote transparency, integrity and unity within a genuine team environment, as this is essential to function effectively and efficiently in today’s complex construction world. We add to this our extensive familiarity with litigation analysis, using that experience, based upon hundreds of real world cases, to reduce potential conflicts and misunderstandings.

The results of these combined strategies can be seen in the many multimillion dollar construction projects that have been completed on time and at substantial savings over the original budget.

If these sorts of savings are something you would like to realize on your current or future construction project, or for a list of current clients and projects, please call or email us for a free consultation.
